The anticipation about this year's gaming ceremony has been intense, notably after presenter Geoff Keighley posted a mysterious photo of a desert monolith. The question has been revealed. The acclaimed developer is creating a completely new Divinity game.
Titled simply Divinity, the game was presented with a bold trailer that included memorable imagery, from a burning man to scenes of revelry and the very opening of infernal gates.
Not the Expected Sequel
Anyone expecting Divinity Original Sin 3, this is not that. Larian stated ahead of time that a third Original Sin game to its beloved RPGs is not being worked on now.
That said, the developer referred to this new Divinity as a continuation of the main series. This phrasing hints that the team might be crafting a more action-oriented experience as opposed to another turn-based title. At this moment, we can only guess, as only a cinematic trailer is available.
The Legacy of Divinity
The Divinity series is universally respected and arguably it pioneered the modern wave of crunchy computer role-playing games. These games are defined by rich lore, player agency, and deep class systems—elements that subsequently found massive success in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
While its setting is classic fantasy, what really distinguishes Divinity apart is the remarkable agency granted to the player.

The series is also notoriously open-ended, letting players to improvise in narrative and gameplay. Nearly every quest can be approached in multiple ways, often in unexpected fashion.
